"An oracular monodrama based on a mineral-organic testimony. Red Mercury is an acoustic and visual journey following the delirium of the extraction of precious metals through the testimony of one of its most elusive icons, red mercury. This monologue is conduced by the artificial speech of a synthetic voice, a LED wall vampire — he who sucks the blood of the Earth — a cluster of robot lights and a CGI landscape, at a threshold where each contaminate the other, revealing informations through a multi channel sound system, evoking their crossed paths as well as the many stories, myths and conspiracy theories surrounding them."

Wandering on Prediction
Virtual Experience, 2020

Interactive one-person virtual experience (for Mac & Windows) commissioned by Joana Pestana for the online exhibition Scrolling the Arcane at www.scrollingthearcane.com.

Interactive virtual experience. In it, the individual wanders and explores an arid reality, while holding an incandescent mobile phone. His perception is conditioned by a camera with constrained movement. Reflecting on our coexistence with different prediction systems, Wandering On Prediction uses predictive text as a tool for building narratives and for virtual navigation. To train that tool, several texts from astrology websites and apps were analysed. The resulting sentences offer guidance, suggesting the “best” path to follow and making the mobile phone a guide for a spiritual exodus.

Sound by Luís Neto & Pedro Pimentel

Everything Is Fine
Installation, 2020

Everything is fine represents the ethical and material destruction, the lost myth of another reality. A denial of a past guilt, inherent to an uncertain truth with hectic spectrum. The heavy character of the physical space is built as a link between the spectator and the conscious and inorganic after life. The viewer brings with it his duty and incorporates the metaphysic and vindictive exoneration from the previous, in an attempt of liberating the buried and sacrificed consciousness.

Sound by Luís Neto

EXO
Installation, 2015
CAAA — Centro para os Assuntos da Arte e Arquitectura
Guimarães, Portugal

We were invited to Louro e Bambu — segundo acto, figuração do exótico, an exhibition curated by Luis Nunes, Luis Albuquerque and Valdívia Tolentino to make an art piece around the concept of exotic, incorporating light.

The exotic, as something strange, from the unknown, raises the question of what is the state of the metamorphosis of the concept itself. In ‘life-as-we-know-it’, the barrier between the organic, the artificial and true, will become more diffuse and abstract, making us wonder about life as an abstraction, the possibility of it being artificial or inhuman, and the ‘light’ as the essential power for it´s own legitimacy.

Save
Installation, 2015
Porto's City Hall, Portugal

Art piece for y[why?], an exhibition with portuguese artists and designers from the Y generation (millennials or generation of Internet).

The Internet is the primary source of prosthetic knowledge, where any person could acquire instant knowledge of something, any subject, event or character, in an easy and approachable way. (...) The practical and sociological magnitude of internet is completely undeniable. Save appears as an analogy to the 'time capsule' concept as an enhancement to the importance of the Internet since the firts modems, relating to the technological future of next generations.
