Sending love and light meaning

Are you wondering what it means to send love and light to someone?

You might have heard people offering it to others in times of need.

Here are its spiritual meanings and how to go about it.

What does it mean to send love and light?

Sending love and light isn’t a superpower, but something we all can do through meditation or prayer.

It can also be used as a greeting or parting statement, as an alternative to hello or goodbye.

You might want to send love and light to a friend or family member in need, or even an ex-partner who you wish well. The reason for sending (or transmitting) love and light is to reach that person with healing.

One writer suggests it’s a reminder of your love, as well as a well wish for the future.

You can write your own love and light prayer or search online for powerful passages.

I came across a short and sweet prayer that captures all I would want to communicate when sending love and light:

“I intend to send light and love to you my friend, with all my heart. From within me, and through my surroundings – to love you, to heal you, and to help you with all the hardships that you are facing in life.”

Now: what can sending love and light mean spiritually?

1) You’re creating transformative healing energy

Consciously sending love and light can have a transformative spiritual effect on another person.

Writer G.M. Michele explains that offering love and light to another can be the “most transformative and healing medicine of all”, when the timing is right.

Think about it: you’re focusing all of your energy on transmitting supportive, positive energy in the direction of another.

You might have come across this idea through yoga or meditation classes.

In my own experience, I’ve heard instructors ask the class to visualize someone and dedicate our practice to them – wishing them well.

It’s the same premise.

But wait, let me tell you something…

In the same article, Michele writes that not all moments call for love and light.

It acts as a bandaid when the problem is much deeper.

What does this mean for you?

Encourage the person to get the support they need to work through any deep-rooted issues, while you shower them with your love and light from afar.

2) You are offering the energy of creation

Psychic and author Mary Shannon suggests that from love we generate an energy and vibration of creation.

Love is more than an emotion but an energy.

Turns out, we are able to shift into a space of creation through the frequency of love.

If you’re dealing with creative blocks and consistently finding yourself at crossroads, have you considered getting to the root of the issue?

You see, most of our shortcomings in love stem from our own complicated inner relationship with ourselves. How can you fix the external without seeing to the internal first?

I learned this from the world-renowned shaman Rudá Iandê, in his incredible free video on Love and Intimacy.

So, if you want to improve the relationships you have with others and solve the issues in your life, start with yourself.

You’ll find practical solutions and much more in Rudá’s powerful video, solutions that’ll stay with you for life.

3) You’ll help others manifest

By sending someone loving intentions and helping them heal, you’re helping them manifest.

When you’re in the frequency of creation, you are able to manifest what it is you desire in life.

You see, we are all creative – despite what some of us believe.

And we are able to manifest whatever it is we want if we’re in the right frequency to receive.

At least, this is central to the concept of the Law of Attraction.

4) You’re offering the frequency of wisdom

Simply put: sending light is like transmitting the frequency of wisdom.

Why?

As reiki master and author Rose. A. Weinberg explains, light is the energy of “all-knowing wisdom.”

In my own experience, I’ve gained a lot from meditations where I’ve flooded my entire body with light – be it white, gold or lavender.

I’ve found the information I’ve been searched externally for.

These meditations have helped me unblock barriers and limitations, realizing my wisdom and power.

Weinberg suggests that to live in light means that “all-wise shines from within”.

5) You are conveying your love for someone

The hint is in the phrase ‘love and light’.

Through engaging in prayer or meditation and holding someone in your mind’s-eye, you are transmitting your frequency of love to that person.

But before you do it, there is something to think about.

We need to face the facts about unrequited love and the problems with placing someone on a pedestal.

Far too often we chase an idealized image of someone and build up expectations that are guaranteed to be let down.

Far too often we fall into codependent roles of savior and victim to try to “fix” our partner, only to end up in a miserable, bitter routine.

Far too often, we are on shaky ground with our own selves and this carries over into toxic relationships that become hell on earth.

Rudá’s teachings showed me a whole new perspective.

While watching, I felt like someone understood my struggles to find love for the first time – and finally offered an actual, practical solution to my need for chasing love.

If you’re done with unsatisfying dating, empty hookups, frustrating relationships and having your hopes dashed over and over, then this is a message you need to hear.

6) You are strengthening your connection the universe

By bringing your attention to the light that exists in the world, you are strengthening your connection to the Universe.

Even though transmitting love and light is a selfless act, through connecting to this frequency you’re actually enhancing your awareness and connection.

Psychic Sofa suggests it “all boils down to metaphysics” and our seven chakras.

Our chakras include:

  • Crown
  • Third Eye
  • Throat
  • Heart
  • Solar Plexus
  • Sacral
  • Root

Psychic Sofa explains everything relates back to light, and we can find healing and balance from imagining a healing white light that encompasses the colors of our chakras.

If you think about it, we are all just light and matter.

7) You’re able to see the Universe clearly

While love connects us to the Universe, light helps us to see it.

Before you send love and light to another person, fill yourself first.

Lightworker Melanie Beckler writes that it is a “foundational piece” in being able to send this healing energy to another person.

She suggests that you focus your attention on the center of your chest, imagining your heart glowing with the Divine, as you ask to be flooded with love and light.

8) It raises the collective vibration

Beckler suggests that just one person choosing to send love can have a healing, positive effect on the collective.

She says:

“Even though you may not see evidence of it immediately, your thoughts, prayers and vibration have a ripple effect on the quality of someone’s life, circumstances and ability to see the highest possibilities emerge for them.”

What does this mean for you, spiritually?

Transmitting love and light can raise your vibration and those around you, reminding us of our interconnectedness.

 9) You’re asking someone to open their hearts

Sending love and light is a request to ask someone to open their hearts.

It’s true: if you start a conversation with someone with “love and light” and a smile, you’re almost certainly going to encourage that person to move into a state of openness.

In my experience, it’s just as important to send love and light to yourself.

Think about it: how can you be a vessel for love and light if your cup isn’t full?

Start sending love and light to yourself through journaling prompts and during meditation.

10) You are supporting another’s spiritual accession

Sending love and light meaning

This is the most significant spiritual meaning of sending love and light to someone.

Through the combination of transmitting healing energy and helping someone open their hearts and mind, you’ll actually help them on their spiritual accession.

Seeing someone you love grow and develop spiritually is great.

But wait, let me tell you something…

I want to suggest doing something different, before pouring all of your time into someone else and helping them out with their spiritual accession.

It’s something I learned from the world-renowned shaman Rudá Iandê. He taught me that the way to find love and intimacy is not what we have been culturally conditioned to believe.

As Rudá explains in this mind blowing free video, many of us chase love in a toxic way because we’re not taught how to love ourselves first.

So, if you want to support someone on their spiritual growth, I’d recommend starting with yourself first and taking Rudá’s incredible advice.

Here’s a link to the free video once again.

Love yourself first and everything else falls into place

It may sound conceited or narcissistic to focus on loving yourself first. But it’s not.

The point isn’t to believe you’re better than others or to accept things about yourself that you really do need to change.

It’s about developing a healthy and nurturing relationship with… you!

Loving yourself is about committing to who you are, understanding the many different nuances to your identity, and showing yourself a level of care and intimacy that we usually reserve for other people.

Unfortunately, we’re not taught how to love ourselves from an early age. And we end up caring about what others think of us rather than focusing on what we need at a more fundamental level.

This is why we partnered with Rudá Iandê to produce a free masterclass on transforming our relationships through the practice of self-love.

It’s currently playing on The Vessel (one of our partners) but only for a limited time.

<< The Art of Love & Intimacy with Rudá Iandê >>

Thousands have attended and told us that the masterclass has completely transformed their relationships for the better.

It’s a must-watch and we couldn’t recommend it more highly.
